LISA ROXANNE

Lisa Roxanne Vol is a 31-year-old Dutch singer and songwriter. She grew up in Brabant and currently lives in Amsterdam. As soon as she could talk, she started singing, mimicking TV commercials and echoing pop stars. At the age of twelve she signed her first record deal and grew up gaining an extraordinary amount of experience working with songwriters, producers, camps and labels. The days outside of school were spent in the studio and vocal booth. Writing, however, has always been her first big love. From a young age a passion flourished that has never stopped. She would send her family poems which they framed and hung in the living room, write short stories for school and later academic papers, a somewhat hidden passion. Her teenage years consisted of a lot of reading, alongside performing with her sisters in the successful band OGENE. For this formation she would later also start writing: first Dutch pop songs and ballads together with the other band members.

Later this evolved into neo-soul and R&B pop tracks, attracting a new and more international audience, partly following the group’s appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. During this time she also started writing together with producers Sjoerd de Vries and Rory de Kievit.

With a wide musical range going from jazz-rap and alternative indie to electropop, her favorite thing about songwriting is diving into new territory, letting curiosity take over and constantly challenging the art of storytelling. Recently she started using Substack as a place to share her thoughts in writing. With a strong focus on her own songwriting journey, she is excited to collaborate with inspiring creatives.
