ELKE TIEL

The artist trio TalkSick (Elke Tiel, Stas Swaczyna and Daniel van der Molen) was formed in 2019 when three friends decided to have a songwriting session together. The result was one of their first songs getting signed by a label in New York, leading to their track “Like Nobody” reaching the number 1 spot on the Billboard Dance Chart in America. The inspiration for the name TalkSick came from the old Dutch saying: “Niet lullen, maar poetsen,” which means “Don’t talk, just do it.” In other words, don’t spend too much time discussing and overthinking things, but learn and experience by taking action.

The vibe of TalkSick is upbeat and energetic, but as songwriters and producers, they also enjoy creating power ballads and epic songs. They draw inspiration from bands like The Chainsmokers, Swedish House Mafia, Zedd, and Calvin Harris, as well as film music composers like Hans Zimmer and John Williams. In their sound, TalkSick aims to bridge the music of the ’80s and ’90s with the current deep house pop sound.

Elke Tiel is a former professional tennis player who always had a passion for music, especially singing. She developed this into a commercial ear for word sounds and vocal lines, resulting in the hit “Anne-Fleur Vakantie” by Roxy Dekker and Cyprus’s Eurovision 2024 entry “Liar” by Silia Kapsis. She is also a vocal coach and adept at the technical aspects of vocal recording sessions.
